The Provo City School District’s most recent annual Title 1 PreK screening put pint-sized participants to the test– toddlers tumbled and gabbed their way during the Dial-4 screening, which evaluates a child’s linguistic and cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills, and social-emotional development. The screening engages students in basic activities such as naming animals, identifying colors, hopping, skipping and various language activities to gauge their school readiness.
The Dial-4 Screening Tool effectively identifies children who may benefit from early intervention services to address any developmental concerns. The screening provides valuable information for placing students in the Title 1 preschool program.
Title 1 schools have federally-funded programs to provide opportunities for at-risk children. Provo City School District has seven Title 1 schools and provides preschool at four locations. The screening is conducted by trained professionals who administer the test and interpret the results.
We want to thank our educational professionals who aided in the screening process and provided this valuable service to the community. Your dedication and hard work are greatly appreciated.
