The Daily Herald recently featured Provo City School District’s Dual Language Immersion program.
Provo City School District’s first set of Chinese language immersion students will enter high school this coming fall. These students will be eligible to take the Chinese language Advanced Placement (AP) exam and begin earning college credit.
Students begin dual language immersion programs in first grade. They spend half of their day learning and speaking in the foreign language and the other half learning topics in English, with different teachers and classrooms for each language.
Provo City School District offers dual language immersion in Mandarin Chinese, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
