February is CTE month and we are excited to highlight the broad spectrum of fields that CTE offers our students. According to the Utah Department of Workforce Services, the annual growth rate for childcare workers is projected to increase 4% through the year 2026. Large concentrations of this occupation are found in the following industries: private households, social services, and educational services both public and private.
Elementary, middle, and secondary school teachers are in high demand across the state of Utah. There are four ways to earn a teaching license in Utah: 1. Out-of-state licensure, 2. University licensure program, 3. The ARL-alternative route to licensure program, and 4. The APT-academic pathway to teaching. In Utah, an elementary, middle, and secondary school teacher must be licensed.

FCCLA is the CTSO for students in the Pre-K: Early Childhood Education Career Pathway. FCCLA provides students with opportunities to attain the knowledge, skills, and leadership characteristics necessary to succeed in life and careers. Provo High School and Timpview High School, both have a FCCLA chapter.
