Each year we award a few of our most deserving Counselors for acting as outstanding resources to teachers and students. We thank our Counselors for their excellent work this year. Here are the Counselors of the year:

Counselor of the Year – Shannon Watson, Provo High School

Shannon brings such a uniqueness to our counseling team at Provo High. She is fun to be around. She is witty, intelligent, organized, and amazing with her students. She holds them to high expectations. Shannon was previously a teacher and used those skills to help teach her students to learn how to become college and career ready. She cares about her co-workers and uses her cake-decorating skills to make them cakes on birthdays. Shannon spends much time outside school hours doing community service and supporting our students in the district. Shannon is a great example of a lifelong learner, taking classes outside of work hours to improve her skills in all areas of life. Shannon is a wonderful member of the Provo High Counseling team!

Counseling Support Staff of the Year – Lisa Pulver, Timpview High School

Lisa has been an employee at Timpview for many years. She is the Concurrent Enrollment and CTE Specialist. She is very pleasant to work with. She works hard to serve the students, and she has facilitated Timpview winning two significant awards from UVU for growth in Concurrent Enrollment credits earned at Timpview and for the biggest increase in Multicultural CE credits earned in our Region. Additionally, Timpview has nine students earning their Associates Degrees from UVU this year because of Lisa’s tireless efforts. Lisa promotes programs that help students find the motivation to complete their diplomas and move into rewarding careers and college. Lisa is a strong team member of the Timpview Counseling Department.
