As the 2023-2024 school year ends, we are proud to recognize this year’s Teacher of the Year, Shari Payne. Shari works to create an environment in her classroom where students are continually built up, giving her students a framework where mistakes are opportunities. And her students’ progress shows.
Shari earnestly seeks to create an environment where learning is done as a community, and students are equipped to grow as a group, buoying each other with love and support. She teaches her students to cheer each other on and encourages them to support each other in that manner regularly.
This supportive culture works with each individual’s growth mindset to equip the students with the tools they need to blossom. Her dedication to her students’ holistic development is inspiring and sets a high standard for excellence in teaching.
Shari personifies the spirit of Provo City School District. She is an outstanding teacher and a giving, supportive faculty member. We are honored to have her among our ranks. Thank you for all you do, and congratulations on being Provo City School District’s 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year.
