To the many students across Provo City School District, Tuesday, October 22 is the last day of a welcome Fall Break. To the faculty across the district, however, it is very much a school day.
A few times a year, class is back in session for the teachers in Provo, as they come to school to learn during professional development.
Research shows that sound professional development can profoundly impact students’ learning potential in the classroom.
PD gives teachers a chance to learn from their administrators and each other. It is an opportunity for teachers to become the best instructors they can be.
From reviewing and refining their fundamentals to learning about cutting-edge techniques, the time teachers devote to continuing their education through PD is important. And, it gives students a little extra time to enjoy their time off.
