“She’s just been a great mentor– Cassidy Diamond was my mentor teacher for student teaching, and then I got hired as a part of her team,” said Mackenzy Turner, Franklin Elementary Teacher. Turner is talking about Fellow Franklin Elementary Teacher Cassidy Diamond, who received the Provo Way Award through Mackenzy’s nomination.
The Provo City School District and Board of Education grant monthly Provo Way awards to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.
Cassidy Diamond is this week’s worthy recipient; she is an invaluable mentor, collaborator, and friend to all, as evidenced by Turner’s admiration for her guidance and teaching approach. To quote the rest of Turner’s nomination:
“She’s a great person to bounce ideas off of. If a lesson maybe didn’t go super well, then I can ask her like, Hey, how did you phrase this? Or how did you teach this? Or what manipulatives did you use?
Then I can try those in my class; it always goes much better than I thought it could have. Cassidy is a great example.”
Congratulations, Cassidy, on this well-deserved recognition!
