Songs swell in the hearts of the students and staff at Spring Creek Elementary, and recently, those songs have literally filled the hallways and offices.
Spring Creek Elementary teacher, Tracy Young, and her students recently sang a song of gratitude for veterans titled “Thank you, Soldiers,” which they sang for their veterans. The act of generosity inspired Young to rewrite the lyrics, which they performed for the front office workers. It’s a real treat.
With Young and her students as examples, we ask that you find ways to thank those working tirelessly to ensure that our students learn safely and comfortably each day.
Enjoy the video, and feel free to read the lyrics below.
When I lay my head down every night and go to sleep in peace. I can stand there, knowing all is well, while you’re standing on your feet.
Keeping watch, protecting child to child, working through our problems, too. Helping translate and communicate, for every band-aid, we thank you.
Thank you, oh thank you, for being brave and strong. To you who serve so faithfully, we sing this grateful song.
From keeping track of budgets, teachers, and subs, too. We can’t imagine what we’d do, Without your patience, too.
That we may wake each morning bright and know when the bell rings. Because of your great sacrifice, your school joined to sing.
Thank you, oh thank you, for being brave and strong. To you who serve so faithfully, we sing this grateful song.
