CTE Month Student Spotlight: Matthew Morris, Metal Fabrication Student

This month is Career and Technical Education month, and we’re celebrating teachers, students, and programs in CTE through reels, articles, stories, and reposts from last year.

In this post, we want to spotlight a deserving CTE student recommended by a teacher. We congratulate Matthew Morris, a Metal Fabrication student. Here’s a quote from Kaleb Money, Provo High School Metal Fabrication Teacher:

Matthew Morris is a Sophomore in my Intermediate class this year. Matt built the mini bike in these pictures in his Freshman year, and he has also been adding to it this year. Everything you see here, except for the motor, rims, and tires, was all engineered and fabricated by Matt– seat, fenders, swing arm, and more. His attention to detail and critical thinking skills are beyond his years of experience. In the short time that Matt has been in my class, he has become somewhat of a “Jack of all trades,” from CAD designs for our CNC table to Milling and machining his own custom parts; he really embodies our shop motto, “Built not Bought.” Matthew has a really bright future ahead of him, and I am excited to see where his skills will take him!
