Our schools are kicking things off right– and in Provost Elementary’s case, with some karate-styled kicks!
Provost Elementary held its kickoff assembly, discussing the year’s theme about finding your best self. Principal Kami Alvarez presented the award in her Karate Gi, using the Karate Kid film to draw analogies for good learners. Alvarez examined how all learning comes through challenges and regular training to acquire a desired skill. She spoke about a culture of learning, noting that students– like Daniel– should also trust their teachers, continue trying even if they fail initially, and move forward with a positive attitude.
Students cheered as staff gave away prizes for exemplary students who fit the Provost STRONG culture (Safe, Trustworthy, Optimistic, Neighborly, and Grateful).
Provost Elementary set the tone for the year with their opening assembly, and we’re sure our Provost students will lead with their best foot forward.
