February is CTE month and we are excited to highlight the broad spectrum of fields that CTE has to offer our students. One of the thirteen clusters is the Architecture and Construction Career Cluster.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the employment of architects is projected to grow 8% nationwide through the year 2028. In Utah, projected growth is 2.6% through the year 2026. Business expansion will provide the majority of job openings in the coming decade, In Utah, an architect must be licensed. From commercial to residential, Utah is home to more than 900 architects and building designers.

The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technologies have allowed architects to do more work without the help of drafters, making it easier to share the work with engineers, contractors, and clients.

TSA (Technology Student Association) is an organization for students in the Architectural Design Pathway and fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The courses offered for our students include: CAD Architectural Design 1, 2, and 3 CTE Internship CAPS – Engineering

Economic expansion, growing homeowner wealth, and an increased interest in interior design will increase demand for interior designers.
