Slate Mountain School

General Information

Slate Mountain School (SMS) is a conglomerate of Youth In Care education programs defined by the Utah State Board of Education Youth In Care Services and administered by Provo City School District (PCSD). All administrators, teachers, Instructional assistants and support staff are employees of PCSD and are subject to all policy and procedures outlined by Provo City School Board of Education. The three primary sites of SMS are Oak Springs (OS) Vantage Point (VP) and Slate Canyon (SC).  Each of these sites are educational partnerships operating within an external state agency that include their own site-specific rules and operating procedures.

At Slate Mountain School our mission is to empower students with proper knowledge and skills to become productive members of society.
