Timpview students had the opportunity to compete at this year’s SkillsUSA State Championship this weekend and they did not disappoint.

Timpview had a record number of 45 students competing in 25 different contests this year. The students all did a fantastic job, with many students achieving high scores which included eight students winning a bronze award, five students winning a silver and four students winning a gold. The four students who were presented with a gold award will represent Utah at the National Finals in June.

SkillsUSA is a program that caters to students who are in middle school, junior high and high school and wish to pursue a career in technical or service occupations. The program strives to improve the quality of the workforce in America through a curriculum that implements citizenship, leadership, employability and professional skills training.

Congratulations to all of the students who competed in this year’s state championship and good luck to the students who will be competing in the national finals!
