In the educational setting, physical therapy services pertain directly to a student’s ability to access his or her school environment. The physical therapist works directly with students in the classroom and in general school setting. The teacher and paraprofessionals are trained on how to incorporate specific mobility skills into the classroom routine, as well as how to use assistive devices and adaptive equipment as needed.
