Policy 6730 P1 Child Nutrition: Employee Continuing Education, Food Safety and Sanitation

In accordance with District Policy 6730 and 6740, employees will complete job-specific continuing education and training to acquire ongoing knowledge in accident prevention and science-based food safety practices. Specific training requirements in food safety and sanitation include a) Food Handler Permit through the Utah County Health Department Food Safety Program within two (2) weeks of employee hire date. Renewal is required every three (3) years; and b) ServSafe Certification through the National Restaurant Association accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Conference for Food Protection (CFP) within four (4) weeks of kitchen manager hire date. Renewal required every three (3) years.
