While there has not be any confirmed cases of the Coronavirus originating in Utah, Provo City School District continues to make preparations to handle any potential outbreak. Last week, the district posted flyers provided by the Utah Department of Health which provided information about the Coronavirus and steps that can be taken to prevent the spread of any communicable disease. Today, Dr. Doug Finch, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, discussed best practices and district policy for handling any potential outbreak of communicable diseases with principals.
As is the case with any communicable disease, the district follows direction from the Utah Department of Health and the Utah County Health Department. At the present time, the district and each school will continue to provide regular cleaning services and encourages all students, employees and visitors to follow best practices of hygiene to help prevent the spread of diseases of any kind.
Please use the included resources for more information about related district policies and about the Coronavirus specifically. Should any further communication be needed, it will be provided in a timely fashion.
