This month, we are focusing on celebrating our Education Support Professionals. Twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, we are recognizing different groups that fall under the Educational Support Professional title and today we are featuring our bus drivers!

Bus Drivers brave snow, traffic, rain and all sorts of conditions to ensure that our students get to school safely and on time. If it wasn’t for our bus drivers, many of our students wouldn’t be able to get to school as effectively.

Rosa Collazo, one of our district bus drivers, said, “I think the most rewarding job is when you first start a route, they are kind of scared and they don’t know how to act around you because you’re a stranger to them. Once they get to know you, they are really happy to see you and they know what to expect from you. You get to know their little personalities and little tricks to make the route comfortable and so they can open up to their personalities to you and you can see how they learn and do new things. That’s just so fascinating and rewarding”.

We are grateful for our bus drivers, who “drive” our district both metaphorically and literally speaking. We couldn’t do it without them!
