Last week, a few Timpview students, who were representing Utah’s most outstanding students from the 9th Grade French and Chinese Dual Immersion Programs, were invited to a special press conference hosted by World Trade Center Utah.

The press conference featured keynote speaker Senator Howard Stephenson and was hosted at the Utah State Capitol building. The purpose of the conference was to spotlight the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program in Utah.

French DLI students Charles Shrader and Elizabeth Geary were featured, as well as Chinese DLI students Shem Frandsen, Taraz Stice, Kamila Stice and John Sandberg. The French DLI teacher Nathalie LeBras and the Chinese DLI teacher Hai-I West were honored and featured as well. Jane Sandberg and Seth Frandsen were specially featured demonstrating their ability to speak and translate for each other in the Chinese language.

Congratulations to all of the Timpview students and teachers for working hard to receive this outstanding opportunity!
