Since Hurricane Harvey’s destructive entrance in Texas, local principals have coordinated with Houston principals on relief efforts. Sunset View Elementary School “adopted” Alvin Elementary School in order to send donations for repairs. Alvin Elementary School is located in Houston, Texas where many homes and businesses were flooded; thus, forcing families out homes and parents losing jobs.
The Daily Herald highlighted students’ efforts to donate to the cause. The School has raised more than $200 so far and hopes to raise $1,000. People can drop off donations at Sunset View Elementary School or online at a YouCaring page.
We are grateful for a community that cares and the efforts being made to help those in need. To read more about what Sunset View Elementary School students are doing, read the Daily Herald article.
