The Provo Way award is an opportunity for the district to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.

This week, we’d like to celebrate and congratulate Provo High School Assistant Principal David Kent.

David Kent was a pillar of Provo High long before becoming Assistant Principal. He’s been beloved as a Science Teacher since 2014 for his rapport with students and staff alike.

Even still, he is close to students and staff, as History Teacher Sarah Woolley’s nomination reveals:

“I love Provo High,” she relates, “and as wonderful as the school is, there is always room for improvement.

“David has been the administrative voice providing significant guidance on several new initiatives and policies. These include new guidelines for course recovery, a new tardy policy, and responding to teacher concerns about students.

“I appreciate the work he’s put in to make Provo High a better school encouraging student achievement and accountability. Along with the hard work he puts in as a new Assistant Principal, David does an amazing job of reaching out and working with students struggling in various aspects. The students respect him, and recognize that David has their best interests at heart.”

David’s deep-dyed love and comprehension of Provo High’s culture makes him indispensable and beloved by all. His high-love, high-expectation administrative style leads an already awesome school to continue perfecting itself each passing year. Thank you and congratulations, David Kent, for your outstanding contributions.
