Tony McGeary, head football coach at Provo High School, has been recognized by the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) as a national winner of the Double-Goal Coach Award. A Double-Goal Coach is one that focuses not only on winning, but also on teaching life lessons and positivity through sports.
Double-Goal Coaches are recognized based on four categories: modeling and teaching players to honor the game, helping players pursue mastery of their sport and not just winning the game, filling their player “emotional tanks” and having conversations with their players at every practice and game.
Over 2,000 coaches from across the nation were nominated for this recognition but only 50 winners were selected. Coach McGeary is the only winner from the state of Utah.
