Provo High Dancesport Festival 20th Anniversary

Last weekend, Provo High School hosted the Dancesport Festival for its 20th anniversary, the state’s largest high school ballroom competition.

“Many of our students made it into the quarter, semi-final, and final rounds of their individual events. One couple from Provo High received 1st place in their event,” shared Colin Bliss, Provo High School’s Assistant Director of Ballroom Dance.

Provo High’s Varsity Company took home gold in the Youth Latin Formation Showdance and won the state title with their Low Rider Cha Cha routine– for the second year in a row.

“Ballroom Director and Dancesport Festival Founder Angela Williams was honored at the festival, receiving recognition for her service to the Utah Ballroom Education Association and the ballroom program at Provo High School.”

Angela Williams is integral in creating a culture of dance at Provo High, and we cannot thank her enough.

For twenty years, Provo High has hosted the Dancesport Festival, and it’s a school renowned for celebrating its students through dance. We thank all ballroom students and families for bringing music and cheer to Provo High and our coaches and directors for showing our students the steps toward a more joyful life.

We also thank our Booster Parent Organization for decorating the gym and transforming the space into a festive ballroom extraordinaire.
