Throughout the month of November, Provo City School District participated in a gratitude challenge, which gave our schools the opportunity to recognize the many things they had to be grateful for. This month, our schools are giving back in a variety of ways.

Dixon Middle School’s “Latinos in Action” group braved the cold to participate in the annual “Clothe and Feed the Homeless” event in Salt Lake City, where they assisted with providing clothes and food to the homeless community.

Jacqueline McDermott, a 4th grade teacher at Spring Creek Elementary School, has encouraged her class to donate cards, games, and toys to the Primary Children’s Hospital.

Timpview High School is raising money for Sub for Santa through creative ways such as building rocking horses, caroling, Costa Vida fundraisers, and many more. They have made more than $70,000 this year, beating their school’s total of $63,000 from last year.

These are just a few of the amazing service activities currently happening within our district. Thank you to all of our schools for utilizing this time of year to give back, whether it’s through hosting a food drive or raising money for an organization. Your efforts help to make our district and community a better place.
