This week, both a student and an educator from Provo City School District were featured in the Daily Herald. They were featured as the Daily Herald’s “Student of the Week” and “Educator of the Week”.

Student of the Week

Thomas Sorensen, a first-grader at Wasatch Elementary, was nominated as the Daily Herald’s “Student of the Week”. He was nominated because “[he] is a great student who always participates in class and does his best each day”. It was also stated that “Thomas loves learning and finds school exciting. Whether he’s in class or at home, Thomas goes out of his way to help those around him”. Congratulations to Thomas for being recognized and for demonstrating outstanding student behavior.

Educator of the Week

Diane Amesse, a first grade teacher at Edgemont Elementary, was nominated as the Daily Herald’s “Educator of the Week”. She was nominated because “[she] remains completely devoted to her students and members of the community. Those who know Dianne, love and respect her passion for helping others achieve success”. Congratulations to Diane and thank you for all of the hard work and dedication you put into educating our students!
