This week, both a student and an educator from Provo City School District were featured in the Daily Herald as “Student of the Week” and “Educator of the Week”.

Student of the Week

Katy Cox, a student at Provo High, was nominated as the Daily Herald’s “Student of the Week”. Katy was nominated because she “is a smart, ambitious and kind student who actively participates in school as the drama president…Katy is highly dedicated to her studies and devotes much of her time to choir and theater.” Congratulations to Katy for being nominated as this week’s “Student of the Week” and thank you for your positive example!

Educator of the Week

The Daily Herald’s “Educator of the Week” was John Mcilmoil, a physics teacher at Timpview High. He was nominated because he “is highly devoted to his students and his school”. John stated that his favorite aspect of teaching is the kids he teaches. He said that he “enjoys how excited they get and how eager they are to learn every time they enter the classroom. John especially appreciates when his students understand a hard concept after applying themselves and searching for answers.” Congratulations to John for this well-deserved nomination!
