Kyle Bates has been hired as the Director of Risk Management for Provo City School District. Kyle is currently the principal at Centennial Middle School. He will begin his new position on July 1.

Kyle has been an educator for 24 years. He began his career teaching history and coaching basketball and tennis at Barstow High School in southern California. He later taught history at Springville Junior High. When he left the classroom in 2006, he took the position of assistant principal at Independence High School. After a year at IHS, he was transferred to Provo High School where he worked as an assistant principal for 5 years. He has spent the last 10 years at Centennial Middle School, serving for 5 years as the school’s assistant principal and for the last 5 years as the school’s principal.

Kyle has been married to his wife, Cia, for 28 years. They are the proud parents of 5 children and 4 grandchildren. Kyle enjoys cycling, building puzzles, and collecting sports memorabilia in his spare time.
