Melanie Hall has been selected to fill the vacant seat on the Provo City School District Board of Education.  The District 2 seat, representing Rock Canyon Elementary School and Centennial Middle School, was previously filled by Michelle Kaufusi.  Kaufusi, a board member since November 2011, resigned her position as Representative of District Two due to her recent election as Mayor of Provo City. Kaufusi’s’ current term was to run for approximately 13 more months, through December 2018. Melanie Hall will complete the remainder of what would have been Kaufusi’s term. According to state law, the position will then be open for re-election in November 2018.

Melanie has an extensive history of serving in different capacities within Provo City School District, including:

  • PTA President for Rock Canyon
  • PTA Treasurer for Rock Canyon
  • Community Council Member for Rock Canyon
  • Math Olympiad Teacher at Rock Canyon
  • CAS 6th Grade Teacher at Provo Peaks
  • Robotics Instructor at Rock Canyon

The Board of Education values this experience and looks forward to the contributions Melanie will make to the Board and the District over the next year.
