Each year, the Utah Science Teacher Association awards science teachers around Utah with various department awards.

These awards include “Outstanding Regional Elementary Teachers”, “Outstanding Elementary Department”, “Outstanding Middle School Department”, “Outstanding High School Department”, “Outstanding 6th Grade Teacher” “Outstanding 7th Grade Teacher”, “Outstanding 8th Grade Teacher”, “Outstanding Earth Science Teacher”, “Dick Peterson Award”, “Outstanding Biology Teacher”, “Outstanding Chemistry Teacher”, “Outstanding Physics Teacher”, “Outstanding Rookie Middle Teacher”, “Outstanding Rookie High Teacher”, “Outstanding Higher Education Teacher”, “Friends of UTSTA” and “Marvin N Tolman Award”.

This year, one of our own was chosen for one of these awards. John McMoil, a teacher at Timpview High School, was awarded with the “Outstanding Physics Teacher” award for 2019. He will be recognized at the 2019 UTSTA Awards Banquet, which will take place on February 8th at the Provo Mariott.

Congratulations to John! Thank you for your outstanding teaching and all that you do for our students!
