This afternoon, Governor Herbert announced that the city of Provo has been moved into the Orange Level. In accordance with the state’s guidelines for K-12 education at an orange level, this change will have a minimal effect on the operations at our schools. Students are still able to attend in person on their assigned days and classes will continue as they have up to this point. All safety and health guidelines currently practiced in the school will continue, including masks.

As stated during the press conference, attendance at athletic events is the only adjustment coming from this switch. For the duration of Provo remaining in orange, spectators are no longer allowed to attend events.

At this point, the switch to Orange does not change the board’s announcement to move elementary schools to Phase 2 next Monday, September 28. The board will continue to monitor all data available this week and will announce any updates as soon as possible.

As a community, we need to work together to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that our schools can remain open. Let’s all do our part.
