Junior ROTC members at Independence High School had the opportunity to use their leadership and team building skills as they crossed a 60 foot expanse of the Provo River using only a rope and a carabineer clip. David Miller, a senior army instructor in the program, headed the activity.
The Junior ROTC is a cooperative effort between the Army and high schools to produce successful students and citizens, while fostering in each school a more constructive and disciplined learning environment. There are approximately seventy-six students who are currently enrolled in the program at Independence High School. Through their use of teamwork and leadership, activities like the river crossing better prepare students for their future endeavors.
Congratulations to the members of Independence High School’s Junior ROTC for utilizing your knowledge to complete a very difficult task!
