Free Audio and Ebooks on Chromebook’s Sora

Did you know that every Provo City School District member has access to the Sora app through students’ Chromebook or personal device?

The Sora app offers free ebooks and audiobooks from the school’s digital community library. Through Sora, students can read and listen to books, add and export bookmarks, highlights and add notes, place books on hold, define new and unfamiliar words, and even add public libraries for more books.

There are even options to adjust audiobook volume and speed, and a dyslexic text option to enlarge and simplify fonts.

Moreover, Sora offers a diverse selection of English, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, and even hard-to-find Portuguese books. We hope that bilingual and Dual Immersion Program students enjoy reading their favorite books in whatever language they choose.

Once you and your student borrow a book from the digital library, it returns itself, so you never need to worry about late fees. Download the Sora app on your Chromebook or personal device and start selecting your favorite ebooks and audiobooks in your preferred language now!
