To honor the 90 year anniversary of Dixon, the school hosted an Open House with historical stations throughout the building. Former students, faculty and staff were presented with identifiable pins and ribbons to celebrate their attendance or work there which has added to the rich history of the school.

Reunions and memories filled each room and hall that night. All were sharing stories, memories, and interesting facts about their time there.

As current students welcomed guests who walked through the front doors and gave a former teacher his pin, there was a loud voice coming from the end of the hallway saying. “Give him the student one!”

When they all looked over, they saw an older gentleman walking towards them with a big smile on his face. Everyone began to laugh when he was getting closer. The two men fell into each other’s arms and embraced each other for a moment. One was a past principal and the other had been a health teacher, both had been at Dixon in the 80s. They had not seen each other for years.

It was awesome to see so many panthers back at the school. Happy 90th Anniversary, Dixon Middle School!

El 90 aniversario de Dixon

Para celebrar el 90 aniversario de Dixon, la escuela organizó un evento en el que se instalaron estaciones históricas en todo el edificio. A los antiguos alumnos, profesores y personal se les entregaron insignias y cintas identificativas para celebrar su asistencia o su trabajo allí, que ha contribuido a la abundante historia de la escuela.

Las reuniones y los recuerdos llenaron cada salón y pasillo esa noche. Todos compartieron historias, recuerdos y detalles interesantes sobre su tiempo allí.

Mientras un grupo de estudiantes actuales daban la bienvenida a los invitados que entraban por las puertas principales y entregaban a un antiguo profesor su pin, se oyó una voz fuerte procedente del final del pasillo que decía. “¡Dale el de estudiante!”

Cuando todos miraron, vieron a un señor mayor caminando hacia ellos con una gran sonrisa en la cara. Todos empezaron a reírse cuando se acercaba. Los dos hombres cayeron en los brazos del otro y se abrazaron por un momento. Uno era un director anterior y el otro había sido profesor de salud, ambos habían estado en Dixon en los 1980s. Llevaban años sin verse.

Fue impresionante ver a tantas panteras volver a la escuela. ¡Feliz 90º aniversario, Dixon Middle School!
