Dixon Celebrates Cultures through Dance and Song

Last October, Dixon Middle School hosted a Cultural Assembly, celebrating its diversity. Over 85 students represented 13 different cultures through a variety of music and dance numbers.

The show was hosted by three student emcees who announced each act with a brief introduction. More than simple briefings to the audience, the student emcees kept the pace cheerful, fun, and peppy.

Throughout the night, the audience was graced with energetic American swing dances, Native American drumming and hoop dancing, a Tongan tauolunga, and many more numbers that reflected the cultures of those presenting.

Students, parents, and teachers alike thoroughly enjoyed the show, which was performed 3 times to allow as many attendees as possible. The presentation was a beautiful reminder of the incredible diversity in our district, as well as the enrichment that such diversity brings.

El pasado mes de octubre, Dixon Middle School organizó una Asamblea Cultural, celebrando su diversidad. Más de 85 estudiantes representaron 13 culturas diferentes a través de una variedad de números de música y danza.

El espectáculo fue presentado por tres estudiantes que anunciaron cada acto con una breve introducción. Más que simples presentaciones al público, los estudiantes presentaron un ritmo alegre, divertido y animado.

A lo largo de la noche, el público disfrutó de energéticos bailes de swing americanos, tambores y bailes de aro de los nativos americanos, una tauolunga de Tonga y muchos más números que reflejaban las culturas de los asistentes.

Tanto los alumnos como los padres y los maestros disfrutaron mucho del espectáculo, que se representó 3 veces para permitir el mayor número posible de asistentes. La presentación fue un hermoso recordatorio de la increíble diversidad de nuestro distrito, así como del enriquecimiento que tal diversidad aporta.
