Rubie Blum, a third-grade student at Wasatch Elementary School in Provo, has been selected by the Provo City School District as the Daily Herald’s Utah Valley Student of the Week.

Rubie is always looking for way to help and serve each day. Since the beginning of the school year, Rubie volunteers to stay after she finishes her lunch to help clean up the cafeteria. She is always willing to do what she is asked and has helped enough that she now know exactly what is needed.

Adele Youd, a facilitator at Canyon Crest Elementary School, has been selected by the Provo City School District as the Daily Herald Utah Valley Educator of the Week.

Adele spends her own time decorating the bulletin boards around the school. Each year, she highlights the Canyon Crest faculty so that the students can learn new and interesting information about their teachers.
