Edgemont kindergarteners recently had the opportunity to invite their dad to school with them to help them create a hands-on project.

This year, the kindergarteners have been learning about the engineering process through hands on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) projects.

To further this knowledge, teachers decided to host an activity where the students invited their dads to help construct an airplane with them. The students and their dads were given an example of an airplane design, along with various materials such as popsicle sticks, paper bags, beads and more to create their own design.

The students and their dads were then able to test their design and reassess the design based on the performance. Overall, kindergarteners were able to practice their critical thinking and engineering skills while also strengthening their relationship with their dad as well.
