February is CTE month and we are excited to highlight the broad spectrum of fields that CTE offers our students. The sixth of the thirteen clusters we are highlighting is the Health Science Cluster. Within this career cluster, these are the pathways within our district that our students can take:

Pathway: Health Science

According to the Utah Department of Workforce Services, healthcare occupations are expected to make up seven of the 20 fastest-growing occupations by the year 2030. Utah is known for its medical innovations, such as the Kolff artificial heart and genetic research. The Utah Population Database (UPDB) is one of the world’s richest sources of in-depth information supporting research on genetics, epidemiology, demography, and public health. HOSA – Student Organization:

HOSA is the CTSO for students in the Health Science Career Pathway. HOSA enhances the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students.
