Carrie Peterson, a Provo City School District Special Education Coordinator, was recently chosen to receive the Jocelyn Taylor Educator of the Year by the Autism Council of Utah.

The Autism Council of Utah (ACU) is an independent council working to foster collaboration, communication and learning among families and agencies.

Carrie was surprised by fellow teachers and staff members last Friday as they all gathered to help the ACU committee surprise her with the award. Afterwards, they celebrated with a reception in her honor. Carrie will be honored at the upcoming annual ACU meeting on April 24, 2018.

Throughout her career, Carrie has always strived to increase her knowledge and skills for working with students with autism. She is our district specialist for students with autism and works very closely with those special and general educators who provide services to students with autism.

Congratulations to Carrie and thank you for the positive impact you have had on our school district.
