Camp Big Springs Includes Field Journals

Each summer, Camp Big Springs provides 5th grade students in Provo City School District with a one-of-a-kind camping and outdoor education experience. By taking advantage of the unique lab setting provided by Provo’s nearby outdoor areas, students are able to explore and understand various S.T.E.M. concepts.

In an effort to continually improve the camp’s learning experience, Camp Big Springs introduced field journals to campers last year. The field journals were a rousing success and will once again be provided at this year’s camp.

Upon arrival at Camp Big Springs, students are given their own field journal, a pen and a drawstring backpack in which to carry the journal. The field journals contains a variety of information to assist students throughout their camp experience, including:

    • Nature Trail, North/South Slope Plant Reference
