Board Report February 8

On Tuesday, February 8, the School Board held its monthly meeting. The following topics were discussed:

  • Employee Recognition
  • School Report for Oak Springs/Slate Canyon
  • Kindness Club reports from Sunset View Elementary and Dixon Middle School
• Business Items
  • Consider the motion to approve Policy 4202 as discussed in the study session (with any recommended changes made in the Study Session) – Motion Carries
  • Consider the motion to recommend to the city council the redistricting plans[1., 2., 3., specific titles if needed] as discussed in the study session. – Motion Carries
  • Consider the motion to approve the school fee schedule as discussed in the study session. – Motion Carries

A special note about upcoming calendar changes:

• Employee Calendar Changes in March
  • March 4th and 25th will be changed to teacher directed time in place of PLC’s
  • March 18th will be changed to grading/standards report in place of PLC’s
• 2022-2023 School Year Calendar
  • Fall Break for the 2022-2023 has been moved to align with the Alpine and Nebo School District. It will now be October 13, 14, and 17. View updated 2022-2023 School Year Calendar

A notice to parents and educators concerning chromebooks:

• An adjustment to the handling of Chromebooks has been made to make the technology manageable and sustainable. Fines, rather than deductibles, have been changed to reflect the cost of replacement, rather than being tied to the current market value of the hardware. Additionally, the floor for the minimum fine for Chromebook damage has been lowered from $40 to $30.
