Artcetera Gallery Wins Sorenson Legacy Award

The Artcetera Gallery just received a Sorenson Legacy Award for Excellence in Arts Education Programming. This has come through the support of Provo School District, BYU CITES, Springville Museum of Art, the UVU Woodbury Museum of Art, Utah Division of Art and Museums and all the great artists who have lectured, workshop or who have displayed!

The Artcetera Gallery is a student gallery located in the Provo Towne Center Mall. The gallery first opened its doors in May 2017 and also includes works by Provo alumni who have succeeded in art careers and works by teachers in the district.

The Sorenson Legacy Awards recognizes excellence in arts education in Utah’s public schools. The study of drama, dance, music, and the visual arts helps students explore realities, relationships, and ideas that cannot be expressed simply in words or numbers. Study of the arts provides a venue for creativity to flourish.

Congratulations to the Artcetera Gallery on earning this prestigious award. Through participation in this gallery, students are able to find passion in the arts as they display their work in a real-world setting. Thank you to all who make this gallery possible and a positive experience for students throughout the district.
