Students, parents, and teachers at Amelia Earhart Elementary braved the cold weather this morning as they put on their running shoes and went for a school-wide run.

The morning started off with an assembly that included instructions about the race, singing the school song, and dancing to Shakira’s “Try Everything”. Students then lined up by grade-level to begin the race outside.

The race began with the sixth graders and ended with the kindergarteners. Every grade ran one lap around the course, except the sixth grade who ran two laps. Following the race, the runners munched on otter pops and waited for the award ceremony to begin.

Congratulations to all who ran at the Amelia Earhart Fun Run today. We love seeing our schools having fun and staying active!
