Introducing New School Security System

Provo City School District administration is pleased to announce the implementation of a new visitor management system at all Provo City School District schools and sites. It is our plan to implement the RAPTOR Visitor Management System starting with a four “pilot” elementary schools beginning in April 2021, with full implementation in all schools by September 2021. This new system is part of the district’s goal of school safety for students, staff, and the community.

As a digital safety solution, the RAPTOR system will change the way visitors in the Provo City School District check in and out when visiting our schools and sites, and it will help us keep better track of who is in our buildings at all times.

Upon entering a Provo City School District school or site, visitors – including parents – will be asked to present a valid government-issued ID, which will be scanned into the system. RAPTOR then checks through its databases for individuals prohibited from visiting school grounds. This database is the only one checked by RAPTOR – no other data from the identification is gathered or recorded, and the information is not shared with any outside agency. No copies of your ID are maintained or saved in the scanner, nor is it kept by the school or site.

This scanning process is quick, easy, and user-friendly and our office staff will be available to assist you.

Once the ID has been scanned and entry is approved, the system will create a unique badge that identifies the visitor, date, and purpose of the visit. Visitors will be required to wear this badge upon entering to the school/site, and throughout their visit. All visitors are expected to check out with front office personnel before leaving the school/site, and leave the visitor badge with them.

Presentado el Nuevo Sistema de Seguridad Escolar

La administración del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo se complace en anunciar la implementación de un nuevo sistema de registro de visitantes en todas las escuelas y sitios del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo. Es nuestro plan para implementar el sistema de registro de visitantes RAPTOR comenzando con cuatro escuelas primarias “piloto” a partir de abril de 2021, con la implementación completa en todas las escuelas para septiembre de 2021. Este nuevo sistema es parte del objetivo del distrito de seguridad escolar para los estudiantes, el personal y la comunidad.

Como una solución de seguridad digital, el sistema RAPTOR cambiará la forma en que los visitantes del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo se registran al entrar y salir cuando visitan nuestras escuelas y sitios, y nos ayudará a llevar un mejor control de quién está en nuestros edificios en cualquier momento.

Al entrar en una escuela o centro del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo, se pedirá a los visitantes – incluyendo a los padres – que presenten una identificación válida emitida por el gobierno, que se procesará en el sistema. Se aceptarán formas de identificación estadounidenses, y también las emitidas por gobiernos extranjeros. RAPTOR comprueba a través de sus bases de datos si hay personas a las que se les prohíbe visitar el recinto escolar. Esta base de datos es la única que comprueba – no se guarda ni graba ningún otro dato de la identificación, y la información no se comparte con ningún organismo externo. No se conservan ni se guardan copias de su identificación en el escáner ni en la escuela/sitio.

Este proceso de escaneo es rápido, fácil y sencillo y nuestro personal de oficina estará disponible para ayudarle.

Cuando se haya escaneado la identificación y se haya aprobado la entrada, el sistema creará una etiqueta única que identifica al visitante, la fecha, y el propósito de la visita. Se requerirá que los visitantes usen esta etiqueta al entrar a la escuela/sitio y durante su visita. Cuando haya terminado su visita, le pedimos que pase por la oficina y entregue su etiqueta para que la escuela pueda sacarlo del sistema.

La seguridad de los estudiantes y del personal es la más alta prioridad del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo.
