There have been many questions regarding what constitutes an acceptable mask/face coverings for this school year. Recently, Governor Gary Herbert announced clarification regarding the mandates of masks being worn in schools and provided clarification on this topic. That announcement, in conjunction with Policy 3420, which was approved by the school board last week, provides what will be expected as students, staff and visitors enter our schools and buses this year.
In short, the following guidelines should be followed by all individuals entering district schools or buses:
Each student will be provided two cloth face masks. Some schools have already distributed these masks to students and others will distribute them as students attend the first day of school. If your student has not received a cloth face mask from their school, please provide one from home for the first day of school and for riding on the bus. Schools and buses will have paper face masks for those that do not have one.

As we return to school this week, please make sure that all face coverings comply with these guidelines. We are excited for this new school year and look forward to working together to make this year as safe and successful as possible.
