Policy 6260 Wireless Communication

The purpose of this policy is:

To establish guidelines for the use of wireless communication devices while meeting District objectives.

To provide consistency, efficiency, and limits in the payment of business-related wireless communications charges.

It is the policy of the District to provide a wireless communications allowance primarily for non-compensatory business reasons to employees whose position warrants the need of constant communication with District schools, departments, administration, and/or parents for safety and/or business purposes. All district administrators are required to have a cell phone.

District administration shall be the sole judge in determination of District wireless communication needs, uses, and reimbursement of charges. Employees shall use cellular phones and other wireless communication devices in a safe and prudent manner.

Employees and volunteers transporting students shall not use cellular phones or other wireless communication devices in a moving vehicle.
