On Monday, November 18, Lakeview Elementary held its annual art show. Art teacher Elicia Gray displayed the art created by students throughout the school in the cafeteria.  She then invited parents to come and enjoy their creativity.

The walls were plastered with the Lakeview Mural, a hand-drawn quilt-style project. “Kind of like how you drop a pebble, and the ripples go out,” explained Gray, “we affect the people around us, and they affect us too. We built circles and divided them up, welcoming other people into our circles.”

The Lakeview Mural expanded across an entire wall of the cafeteria, but it was just a small portion of the projects that were on display. Hand-made clay bobbleheads were presented to on-looking friends and family. Dance videos were watchable through QR codes at the front of the stage, and make-and-take craft projects brought visiting parents into the art experience that students partake in every day throughout the district.
