Last week, Dixon Middle School students showcased their creativity by building with Legos. This activity, part of Dixon’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program, focused on working as team to accomplish a goal.
Following a video showing effective teams in the workplace, each team of students was tasked with building a hotel out of Legos. Working together, students practiced the skills they learned in the video to complete the assignment.
By integrating science, technology, engineering and math into each student’s educational experience, the STEM program encourages students to continuing their education in those fields.
To learn more about this program, parents are encouraged to follow the STEM program’s Facebook page: @PCSDSTEM. Provo City School District will also be hosting a STEM Fair on February 17 at Dixon Middle School.
We loved seeing Dixon Middle School utilize their STEM skills through the creation of Lego hotels. Keep up the good work!
