This year’s annual Utah Science Teach Association conference was recently hosted in Provo and four elementary school teachers from Provo City School District were featured speakers at the conference.
Edgemont Elementary teachers Sara McAffee, Emily Soderborg, and Jeff Cornwall focused their presentation on integrating art into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programs. On the other hand, Westridge Elementary teacher Mark Nance spoke about “Using an Engineering Activity as a Pre-Assessment, Unit Planner, and Post Assessment”.
We are proud of our two STEM focused elementary schools for representing our district at this conference, as elementary science teachers are not normally featured as speakers.
Thank you to these teachers for your great presentations at the UTSTA 2017 Conference and for your daily efforts to make our schools a better place.
