Provo City School District selected Tevin Kayembe, a fourth grade student at Westridge Elementary School, for the Daily Herald’s Utah Valley Student of the Week.

Tevin was selected because of his hard work ethic as a student and his desire to help others. He serves through helping with food drives, Sub for Santa, and promoting recycling efforts within his neighborhood. Tevin wants to continue to help others by someday becoming an environmental engineer that cleans and filters water so that those who don’t have access to clean drinking water will have the opportunity to.

Tani Brown, an eighth-grade English teacher at Centennial Middle School, was selected by Provo City School District as the Daily Herald’s Utah Valley Educator of the Week.

Tani was selected because of her organizational and classroom management skills. She also started a student TED Talks event where students were able to practice their written and oral presentation skills through presenting a TED Talk to their classmates. Tani even presented this event idea at a state and a national conference last year.

Congratulations to both Tevin Kayembe and Tani Brown for these great recognitions. Great job!
