Over 125 students, along with their parents, siblings and friends, enjoyed a special night at Provo Peaks Elementary that celebrated teaching and learning new techniques and mediums of art in our elementary schools. Students experimented with watercolor, clay, collage, drawing, and even origami.
Several professional artists attended the event to help instruct students on proper technique and introduced them to the various tools of the trade. These artists used some of the students there as their models for the evening, and the students definitely enjoyed that.
Art education is important in Provo School District, and many schools in Provo provide designated time to educating elementary students in the various forms of art from photography to sponge painting.
