This week in honor of veterans and those serving in the military, 70 members of the Dixon Middle School Honor’s Society, gathered in the library to write Christmas letters and make cards for armed service personnel. An annual project hosted by their advisor, Leann Moody, students filled Christmas stationary with words of gratitude and thanks for those who serve and protect our country. The letters will be sent to Holiday Mail for Heroes who will forward them to those who will be serving during the holidays.
“This is a great project and the students write incredible letters,” said Moody. “They do such a good job and this year we have students who hope family members receive them as they are serving oversea,” said Mrs. Moody.
They students created more than 100 cards and letters. They also enjoyed being with friends and eating doughnuts. Students at Dixon have been doing this project for the past five years.
